Little Loving Hands -- Product Review

Disclosure: Little Loving Hands sent me this month's box free of charge for this review. All opinions in my review are my own and I did not receive any other compensation. They also sent me a copy to giveaway! As in all my reviews I am providing links for your ease, but receive no compensation.

Have you noticed all the monthly box subscriptions out there? There are so many of them and they all have a slightly different theme, however here is one that teaches kids to about charity and giving. Little Loving Hands offers a monthly subscription where a box with a craft arrives each month and with the craft is also information about who the craft is for and an envelope (with postage paid) to mail it to the charity. The explanation of the charity was double sided

Of course also included in the box are the supplies and instructions for the craft. Our craft was a search and seek bag for kids at The Children's Inn at NIH (National Institute of Health).

The craft started with sewing the two pieces of felt together. The plastic needle had the yarn tied to it and the felt had pre-punched holes/slits. The hardest part for Hazel was remembering to do the whip stitch and not the running stitch.

The back piece also had a tag where Hazel could write her name so the receiver of the gift could know who made it.

The craft came with white beans and three bottles of food coloring. We decided to dye the beans and leave some white. We even mixed the red and yellow to make orange beans as well.  While the beans dried Hazel picked out what she would hide in the beans.

While she selected the treasures she also chose which clues to have them seek and glued them onto the card. She could pick twelve!

After the card was finished it got tied onto the bag with the same yarn and we filled the bag. Hazel finished sewing the bag together and we put it in the envelope. We made a special trip to the post office today so it could get mailed off.

Hazel keeps asking if I think the child who receives it will like it. She really enjoyed doing this. The box also includes a certificate and a button to acknowledge the child's effort and work.

Overall it was one of the better boxes we have tried. Hazel really got into the charity part of it and the craft was easy enough for her to do and had places to add her own touches. If you want to help teach a child about giving and charity be sure to check Little Loving Hands out.
